Anyone want $10? Steal this strategy
A quick win for any business owner

$10 Walmart gift cards
The idea was simple. I posted this in our local Airbnb host Facebook group: “Anyone want $10?” Naturally, everyone was intrigued. Who wouldn’t be?
All the host had to do was schedule an on-site quote with me, and I’d bring them a $10 Walmart gift card. Easy peasy.
Why in the world would I pay someone $10 just to let me give them a quote? Because it’s a super cheap way to get serious leads for your cleaning business. The only people who will call and meet you at their property are folks seriously considering your services.
You need to stand out. Our space (Airbnb cleaners) is crowded. One way to make it easier for customers to find you is to do something so out there (like giving out $10) that hosts would feel silly not saying "YES!"
Marketing is just that: doing something so interesting, odd, or exciting that you grab someone’s full attention. Even if it’s just for a second. Marketing is all about claiming a tiny piece of real estate in your customers’ minds. If you can do that, you can sell your services.
It’s the exact same reason you opened this newsletter, which, by the way, is catching on. If you want to share it with other Airbnb cleaners you know, use this link :)
For me, this approach worked like a charm. Almost immediately, two hosts reached out to schedule a quote for Airbnb cleaning.
Want to try this strategy? Here’s a pro tip: don’t buy the gift cards until someone actually schedules the quote. The last thing you want is a bunch of unused gift cards.
But marketing doesn’t always mean spending money. Here are a few ways you can market your business for free:
- Show up to a local Airbnb host meetup and introduce yourself and your business.
- Leave a note for the guests after a cleaning with your name and number, asking them to share if they liked your work.
- Be active in your local FB groups by sharing helpful tips and tricks to make cleaning a breeze.
- Ask your current customers to introduce you to other hosts they know
All of these are marketing. You’re putting your business in front of someone and asking them to buy—or at least to share your info with someone who might.
If you’re not ready to invest money into a marketing strategy to grow your Airbnb cleaning business, start with one of the four approaches above. I’d love to hear which one you try and how it works out.
Remember, it’s not too late to get $50 off my 6-figure Airbnb cleaning course. The offer ends soon, and it’ll be full price before you know it! Check out the course here.
Until next time, keep an eye out for an exciting announcement coming soon to this newsletter!
