Don't Be Everything to Everyone
A new way to quote jobs

Hey Clean Team,
Ever feel like you're expected to wear a thousand hats? Clean the house, change the linens, sweep the patio, scrub the grill, do minor repairs, buy supplies, take out the trash, and balance the hot tub chemicals—sounds familiar? And when a host asks for more, the instinctive response is: “Of course! Happy to help!”

Wrong❗️
Hosts (and cleaners) need to recognize that everything has a cost. Each task takes time, and your time is valuable and deserves to be treated as such.
Stand Out & Charge Smart
Want to break free from the myth that you should do every task a host asks? Here’s how:
Pro Tip: When you give a cleaning quote to an Airbnb host, provide your standard departure cleaning checklist and a list of optional add-ons or "property-specific requirements."
Game Plan:
Allow the host to choose 2 add-ons for free.
Charge $15 - $50 for any other add-ons.
Here’s an example of what this could look like:

Just an example - not a complete list
Why This Works
Clarity: Sets clear expectations early about what’s included and what’s not.
Professionalism: Elevates your business as a professional cleaning service.
Fair Play: Prevents hosts from treating you like a handyman, property manager, or co-host.
Why Not to Do This
If you’re willing to do almost anything a client asks.
If you don’t value your time.
Proceed with Caution
This isn’t an excuse to “nickel and dime” your host. Airbnb cleaning has industry standards about what’s expected and what’s not. If clients want you to do extra work without extra pay, that’s a problem.
Action Steps
Take Inventory: Assess the tasks you currently do for hosts.
Benchmark: Ask other cleaners if these tasks are standard.
Adjust: Re-evaluate your pricing and make changes for future clients.
