Would you ever quit your job to become full-time entrepreneur? |
Want to see something crazy? See that big dip in Feb 2024?
That's when I quit my job. I quit when my side hustle revenue was at its lowest. Pretty dumb, right?

The dumbest part? I quit a job that I actually liked. But I knew if I didn't take the leap then, I never would.
When I quit my job, we were the exclusive cleaners and property care team for just 10 short-term rentals (Airbnbs). Today, we handle the full turnover process for 55 properties across Northwest Arkansas. We're the unseen force that makes each guest feel like the property is brand new. It's like magic.
We do it all (cleaning, laundry, supplies, staging, welcome snacks, minor repairs, etc.). It's a logistical circus. But I love it.
But how did this whole thing start? Here’s the full story. I hope it inspires you to chase your dreams.

For 4.5 years, I worked in finance and merchandising at a massive retailer.
But in September 2022, my brother-in-law and I were watching a show about some billionaire who got dropped in the middle of nowhere. His goal was pretty simple: start a business from scratch and get to a $1M valuation in 90 days. My brother-in-law said “I bet we could do that.”
So we did. Well, kind of.
We got a few friends together and set up our own competition. Whoever starts a business and makes the most money in 6 weeks wins. Pretty simple right?
Five weeks in, I had made $0. Nothing.
Then one day my buddy sends me a post on X (formerly Twitter) about how to start a cleaning business. I was so desperate to win the competition that I decided to do it. Two days later I had a website. Two days after that, I had a cleaner, my first customer, and $500 in sales.
I didn’t do any market research, no competitive analysis, nothing. I didn't have time to. I did everything your business classes tell you not to do and it worked out (so far).
Year 1 we did $96K (while I was working full-time). Year 2, we're on pace to do $250K (2.6x vs LY) with almost $0 in ad spend. In year 3 we should be close to $750K or something has gone terribly wrong.
I'm using this newsletter, my X profile, etc to share my journey (documenting the ups and downs) and learnings from running an Airbnb cleaning business. If I do this right, my story will make some of you quit your jobs and make most of you realize that entrepreneurship isn't for you.
Thanks for reading! Share this newsletter with someone who should quit their job and jump all-in!
